Sean Adam's Interview Recap

One of the main things I learned from Sean Adam's interview was what the AIGA was. According to Sean, it is the largest communications design organization in the world, with 25,000 members and 66 chapters across the United States. The organization was founded in 1914, in order to "celebrate and safeguard excellence in graphic design." I also learned that the AIGA have their own archive of graphic work. This collection consist of work made for AIGA through their 100 years of existence. Another interesting thing I learned from the video was Sean's view on a portfolio. I am currently trying to set up my portfolio, and enjoyed the fact that he touched upon it in the interview. Typography is a really important part of the portfolio, along with presentation. The portfolio is a very significant item employers look at when hiring a new designer. They are looking for specific items that portray what type of designer you are. All in all it was a very informative video that gave us insight into the professional graphic design world.
